I finally got my hands on a pair of denim shorts by One Teaspoon, who seems to have mastered the cut, distressing, and color of the perfect denim shorts. I threw on this maxi cardigan over the outfit since the weather is still warming up here, and while I'm in no rush for fall, I can already see how the maxi cardigan can be transitioned to cooler temperatures.
