'70s Trend

Madewell field jacket (on sale!)
Forever 21 wool hat and gladiator sandals
3.1 Phillip Lim round sunglasses
Margaret Elizabeth "Rimini" bangle c/o Rocksbox

For some trends, I prefer to test them out first, like these ASOS round sunglasses I bought last year and liked so much that I decided to invest in this pair from Phillip Lim. I'm now testing out these Forever 21 gladiator sandals, which I like (especially for the price), and if the trend lasts, I'll look into a more quality pair. I built this whole outfit around these '70s round sunglasses, but I wanted to keep the look modern. When dressing in the likeness of an era, I choose about 2-3 items (round sunglasses, hat though not floppy, and gladiator sandals) to avoid looking too much like Jackie from That '70s Show.

  5. I think it's smart that you try out a trend first and then invest in more quality pieces if you end up loving the piece! And gosh I seriously drool over that bag every time I see it!

  11. I love round sunglasses on other people but not on myself - I have a round face and I feel like round frames tend to take away the very few angles I have on my face. That said, I simply adore yours - they frame your face quite nicely! I'm also quite fond of saddle bags at the moment so that crossbody bag had me drooling! You look lovely!

  13. Such a cute outfit. I love the jacket. You're so smart when it comes to trying out trends. Why waste the money if it's ephemeral or if you don't like it. These gladiators are cute too!

    1. Hi Shannon! The sandals have been sold out a couple times, but I just added myself on their email alert waitlist and bought them right when they came back in stock. Worth a try if you still want them! :)

  17. Really lovin' this 70's trend look you put together and that pop of colour! The sandals are so cute. I've always loved gladiator sandals, I just never got a pair because I didn't think they would really suit me. But they look great on you!

  23. There is a lot (and I mean a LOT) I'm admiring in this post - from head to toe it's a really stylish look. The cut out design of the sandals is really unusual, the colour of the Chloé bag is to die for and I especially love the dainty bracelet/bangle! :)
