A Quick Guide to Vancouver, BC

Last weekend, we popped up to Vancouver, BC for the weekend with friends to celebrate my birthday. Here's a quick guide for about 36 hours in Vancouver!

(As a disclaimer, we live in Seattle and frequently visit Vancouver. If it's your first time, you could visit the market on Granville Island, hangout in Stanley Park, and shop on Robson St. There's also so many amazing restaurants, neighborhoods, and shops to explore!)

To Stay
Airbnb - 27 Alexander: I don't usually use Airbnb, but it was the way to go! Located right in Gastown, we pretty much stayed in the area and loved being able to walk home after a night out. The interior is so cute too! Plus there is a parking spot, which is usually $30/night through a hotel.

To Do/Eat/Drink
Left: Morning Shanghai - Chinese restaurant located in Richmond (Hongcouver). We ordered 13 dishes for 6 people and devoured everything! Musts: soup dumplings and pan-fried soup dumplings.
Right: Revolver Coffee - Coffee from around the world.

Left: Bao Down - Got a snack of fried chicken bao, pork belly bao, and kimchi fries.
Right: Walk it off while shopping in Gastown (boutiques to check out: Roden Gray, Neighbour, and Oak+Fort).

Top left: Tim Hortons - touristy, but we were on a 2-hour waitlist for brunch and got hungry! And you can't go wrong with donuts.
Other: Cafe Medina - one of my favorite brunch spots! Delicious Moroccan-inspired fare. I had a rosewater latte, waffle with white chocolate pistachio sauce, and lamb meatball tagine.

Left: Earnest Ice Cream - I had a scoop of Chamomile Honey, and Husband ordered the London Fog.
Right: Sweet Peaks - Organic soft serve ice cream; I had the honeycomb with cereal, and Husband had the matcha red bean.

Concluded the trip with an awesome dinner at Pidgin and then cocktails at The Diamond.

Have a great weekend! Hope it's one of adventure, good company, and delicious bites.

  5. I'm having some major sugar envy right now, and I honestly have no idea what bao is, but I want it. So noting these recommendations for when I make my way to Vancouver one day. It's on my list!
